The wall clock/grandfather clock made of ash wood - "The versatile one".Ash wood is very versatile and was often used for tool handles, ski production, etc.
Today, ash wood is also used in furniture construction, interior design, parquet floors, step construction, etc.
The proportion of ash trees in Austria's forests is relatively low (approx. 1%) and the ash population is under severe threat from an introduced fungus.
But don't worry, this ash tree was not felled for this beautiful clock ;)
Ash wood is considered to be rather heavy and hard, tough and elastic. The ash tree can be found up to heights of 1,200 meters and can live up to 250 years. It can grow up to 40 meters tall and reach a trunk diameter of 2 meters.
The ash tree also has its place in Nordic mythology (Yggdrasil, the world ash tree).
The wood of this clock is light and warm - and yet individually shaped by a former "subtenant" and is absolutely unique. Give your home an individual touch that no one else has hanging on their wall.
This is a handmade unique piece, Made in Austria. The wood itself comes from a real Styrian ash tree.
The surface has been waxed.
The clock is powered by a quartz movement with battery (AA). The front of the clock has been carefully sanded.
The clock mechanism has been milled into the back, which means it is flush with the wood.
This means it can be easily mounted on the wall.
